The advantages of the flake ice
- 100 per cent of the water used is converted into ice, compared with 80 per cent for competing wet ice
- easy storage and handling, compared with a significant risk of clumping and blockages with competing wet ice
- Lower production costs due to the evaporation temperature of flake ice (-22°C), compared with -15°C for competing wet ice
- Lower storage costs as the ice is more fluid (no clumps) and therefore easier to transport
